Investigate Extreme Rainfall Events
HistoRain develops annual maximum rainfall series across multiple storm durations and keeps each maximum connected to the observations that produced it. Compare years and durations, identify unusual events, and drill back into the underlying rainfall record.
Develop Rainfall Frequency Information
Convert the annual maximum series into duration-based rainfall frequency information. HistoRain develops DDF and IDF summaries across multiple storm durations and return periods, while retaining access to the observed annual maxima and fitted frequency analysis behind each result.

Rainfall data from established public sources
HistoRain provides access to historical rainfall and precipitation records from sources including NOAA and Environment and Climate Change Canada. Additional data sources and historical archives are being integrated as HistoRain develops.

HistoRain preserves source information and measurement provenance throughout the analysis workflow. Data quality can be reviewed before analysis, and calculated results remain connected to the rainfall observations from which they were developed.
