Ann Landers and Abigail Van Buren are two of the most famous American commentators in history. These famous identical twins have featured several columns throughout their careers,including the famous Dear Abby.

When Lederer began writing the column, her sister contributed by reading some letters and suggesting answers. However, the Sun-Times banned the partnership and Phillips (known as Popo) soon decided to write her column. Dear Abby took off and quickly became Ann Landers’ main rival, leading to a brief feud between the sisters.
